I love this podcast and it's the only Doctor Who podcast that I listen to. John brings great information and nostalgia while Jim provides a fresh look and his writing & editing background. They're funny and approachable, creating an environment that encourages people to come back for more. I listen every week and write in often. Bravo!

The hosts are traveling through time and space, begining with the Hartnell era, and reviewing every classic Doctor Who story, one serial at a time. The hosts have great chemistry, one being a seasoned Time Lord of classic Who knowledge, while the other is a fresh-faced companion experiencing these stories for the first time. It’s a nice blend of nostalgia and discovery, with insightful observations, while also taking a fair approach and calling out story or production problems. At the time of this writing, they've moved into the Peter Davison era and I'm having a blast listening to their coverage each week! The Doctor's Beard podcast is fun, informative review podcast that works its way through televised Doctor Who one serial at a time. John and Jim are a lot fun, bring a fair but critical eye to stories and having a lot of fun while doing it. I never miss an episode.

First watched dr who as a kid on WWOR channel 9 in NY , hosted by Howard de silva a looong time ago. Like many tom baker was MY doctor and i collected all his stories starting with revenge of the cyberman on vhs tape. Fast forward (time travel?) a few decades and scrolling Facebook i noticed a post for your podcast. As luck would have it you had just began covering tom bakers tenure. As i write this while listening to the full circle episode i wanted to tell you both you make a great team , each episode is entertaining and chocked full of great information and insights. Every episode I’ve listened to has been an entertaining and humorous look at my favorite tv series Doctor Who. Yes the two presenters don’t always agree on the story that is being reviewed, but I find myself agreeing with some of their observations. Always a fun podcast to listen to. I’ve now listened to multiple episodes of this podcast and it has become one of my favorites. I’m a fan of Classic Doctor Who and have enjoyed listening to John S Drew and Jim Beard discussing each new episode and story of Classic Doctor Who. My favorite parts of each episode are the humorous comments about the good, bad and embarrassing moments in each story. I also like any time Jim Beard compares Doctor Who to some other genre show like the Prisoner or Dark Shadows. I always look forward to listening to the newest episode that drops.
